Our Commitment to Monitoring and Supporting Growth and Learning
District 205 uses a comprehensive and balanced suite of assessments to ensure our students succeed. We use results of these assessments to plan instruction, measure academic growth and achievement relative to standards and peers, and to monitor progress within the school year.
Preparing for Assessments
We encourage parents to stay informed about upcoming test dates available on our assessment calendar. Please contact the school if your child will be absent on test days. Here are some tips to help your child prepare for assessments:
Discuss the test date a few days in advance and mark it on the calendar together.
Explain that some questions may be challenging, and it's perfectly fine not to know all the answers.
Ensure your child gets sufficient sleep and a healthy breakfast on test days.
After the test, give your child space to share their experiences in their own time, without pressuring them with questions.
